This weekend was my first Anime con (Ohayocon), and what a rush it was! Original plans I had a year ago of being in Artist's Alley never came to pass since school took up my art efforts, so I became a standard attendee. I learned so much about fans, I was amazed.
I cosplayed as both Larxene and Roxas (switching off with my sister) and found crossplaying can be a lot of fun (though for KH the great majority of characters is male anyway, so female is a little harder to do).
Random OOC-ness that I found on the net makes more sense. Cosplayers usually (USUALLY) know it's OOC rather than not undertanding characters.
Fanservicing I still don't condone, but I found myself tempted to do (on stage! XO) for one reason: attention. People do it for attention. Possibly not because they themselves want it. A vicious cycle perhaps?
Just because a person is cosplaying a cool and under-appreciated character does not in any way, shape or form make them a cool person. Or mean they actually understand the character either. -.-
And as for Avatar the Last Airbender (rather than Kingdom Hearts): sitting in a room crammed with other Avatar fans and getting a full spectrum of ship types and people... The Avatar fandom is saner. Even they agree the shipping is out of hand, and they're somewhat more likely to follow canon, it seems. Then again, Avatar is brave enough to establish canon. *Cough cough*
A special shout-out to and to images.cosplay.com/gallery.php…, who let me hang out with them. You guys were a blast, and thank you so much!
In other news, I bought a Trading Arts and it was Cloud, to my delight, I got to get some shopping done for someone who's hard to shop for, I have my first KH poster, and I got to buy and drink a potion. ...Not something I'd buy to drink, even if it were the price of a normal softdrink rather than the crazy amount I spent to try it. What you do for an experience. And I have no regret for spending that much on a soda that tasted like Sprite mixed with a few Fruit Roll-Ups. (Okay first sip, not so much on the last.)
Oh, and Final Fantasy Unlimited? Kaze is my fave character, hands down. But as a game, this would be terrible. As a series it's best for laughs and the random references. I crack up every time the victory music plays.
And it's time I'm off to bed. School starts tomorrow (which will be rough since I had the best weekend in months, more fun than the holidays, and the best geekout session since an "unbirthday party" with some of my internship pals at the beginning of December).
But hey... There's an Anime con during Spring break hosted by a friend I've known for a few years... And my sis and I are invited to help run a Disney-related panel. Perhaps I can get finances together for that. So expensive... But after this weekend?
Perhaps starting a new journey may not be so hard. Or maybe (with this con) it's already begun.

Wow, an actual journal!
Yeah... I'm not quite dead. I just don't have much to say that's that interesting IMHO. I've been to Megacon the last two days. Very different from the cons up north. Still a good time. I'd hoped to get an Aqua cosplay done in time, but it didn't pan out.
One thing I DO hope to get up on here soon is my PocKeyblade. Yeah, you read that right. And you can guess what it entails. It's gone over AMAZINGLY well. I figured it would get some laughs, rather than the popularity it received.
Also. Randomly, but technically still on topic. Please don't character bash the character a cosplayer you're talking to is dressed as. It's really i
KHInsider Gummi Ship Contest - A finalist?!
Ho-lee cow.
End of Winter Break I had enough time to spruce up two of my KH2 Gummi Ships and submit them to KHInsider's Gummi Ship contest. I'd enjoyed that mini game far too much for my own good and thought I should enter, even if I only stood a 2% chance of winning, if that.
And now I'm one of the 8 finalists, and judging from the poll, I'm currently in second place! (I'm not overly surprised I'm not in first, since any KH pairing, literally a SHIP here, would win regardless). ...But I would ask anyone who reads this... Vote for me, please?

Anime St. Louis!
Man, it's been so long since I've really been active here. I can't wait until after next quarter. Done with school and soon I'll be moving to Florida (on yet another internship, but this time stay and make my way around into Imagineering, long as that takes).
In the meantime, next week is Anime St. Louis (http://www.animestl.com). At the very least I'll be hosting two panels with my sister ("Wonderful World of Disney," and "Kingdom Hearts"). If things can get done and rehearsed enough, I'll also be in the masquerade, too. (Special thanks to Katrina and Mikhail for all their help!)
If you're in St. Louis next week, or you're like me and

Fun stuff last (And yes, I'm talking about the new secret ending).
I think I said I quit my Disney Store job. It's not owned by Disney anymore. If you've worked at both, you can tell. And I was risking my safety at the position I held. If I haven't said, it's a long story.
I now work for the store with the biggest amount stolen from credit cards in history. TJMaxx got hacked. But that was after I was accepted. It should be safe now, if you're worried. The people there are very sweet and a great team. Understaffed? Well, most places are now. But not insanely so, usually. Though not a flattering job, I don't mind it, and I don't d
