8/18/05 Edit: Better pictures!!!
An assignment for class was to make a piece inspired by a song. So of course I chose "Where the Dream Takes You" from the Atlantis: the Lost Empire OST. Because of this song, I came up with the whole "Dreme" ecology, as seen here: [link]
A lot of fun to do, but it took a long time. Nine hours sculpting JUST the dolphin-like creature, and another 3 glazing it. The girl I have no clue on the times, but easily 6. When hollowing the dolphin out, it had to be cut into 11 pieces!
Side note: During the final, we had to play the music for everyone. I was loving the music, but while it played I became concerned that perhaps the song wasn't to their tastes or they thought, "Oh, another Disney thing." Because I do a lot of Disney-ish stuff, since I grew up drawing it. But instead I got positive comments on the song and people told me how touching it was. One even said it brought tears to her eyes! And I was so relieved, PLUS to hear that made me thrilled, since I just love Atlantis.
Detail of the girl, Dremer: [link]
Media: Copper wire, epoxy putty, Super Sculpey, clay, glaze
